The short version
- Add Runner to Claude or ChatGPT with the address https://app.runtheworld.ai/api/mcp, then sign in to Runner and tick the products the assistant may see.
- Every connection can read your business numbers: traffic, ads, deals, revenue, content and what needs your attention. It doesn't get people's names, emails, phone numbers or messages.
- Leave Can draft on and it can also save posts and articles as drafts and hand your growth team ideas. Nothing posts until you approve it.
- Disconnect it any time in Runner, under Settings → MCP clients.
Add Runner to Claude
Find Runner in Claude's connectors, or add it yourself by its address. On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it first under Organization settings → Connectors, and then each person connects with their own Runner account.
Open Connectors
In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, press + Add and choose Add custom connector.
Enter Runner's address
Name it Runner, enter https://app.runtheworld.ai/api/mcp and press Continue. If Claude asks how to set up its OAuth client, choose Register automatically.
Sign in and allow
Press Connect, sign in to Runner, tick the products Claude may see and press Allow access.
Switch it on in a chat
In a chat, press +, open Connectors and switch Runner on.
In Claude Code
Run claude mcp add --transport http runner https://app.runtheworld.ai/api/mcp, then claude mcp login runner. Your browser opens Runner's sign-in, where you tick the products and allow access.
Add Runner to ChatGPT
Find Runner among ChatGPT's plugins, or add it yourself by its address on ChatGPT on the web. On ChatGPT Business and Enterprise, your workspace's own policies apply.
Add a custom server
Open chatgpt.com/plugins, press + and choose Add custom MCP server.
Enter Runner's address
Name it Runner, enter https://app.runtheworld.ai/api/mcp as the Server URL and choose OAuth for authentication.
Create and install it
Accept ChatGPT's risk notice, choose Create as a plugin, then install it.
Sign in from a chat
In a chat, type @ and pick Runner. The first time ChatGPT uses it, Runner's sign-in opens: tick the products ChatGPT may see and press Allow access.
Sign in, and choose which products it can see
Connecting opens Runner's own sign-in. You sign in with your Runner account, and the assistant sees only what your role in Runner lets you see. If you're an owner or admin, Runner asks for your second sign-in step as well.
Runner then shows what the assistant will be able to do and lists the products you belong to. Tick at least one. The assistant reads only the products you tick, and every request it makes is checked against your role at that moment and recorded in your workspace's audit log.
To let it see a product later, connect again and tick that product too.
If the screen says the app isn't verified
Runner says that about any app that registered itself when it connected, as Claude does when you add it by its address. ChatGPT is recognized by its addresses and named as ChatGPT. Connect only an app you started from yourself.
What the assistant can see
Every connection can read your business numbers in the products you chose:
- How this week compares with last: visits, contacts, deals, revenue and ads.
- Visits, where they came from, and the Google searches that found you.
- Each ad channel's status, spend, clicks and conversions, and ad changes waiting for approval.
- Open deals by stage and value, wins and losses, and follow-ups that are overdue.
- Revenue and fees, and what each product costs, if your role can see payments.
- Scheduled and recent posts, hot companies and new leads, and your growth team's scoreboard.
- What needs you: approvals waiting, conversations awaiting a reply and overdue next actions.
Try it
How did this week compare with last week? Which ad campaigns spent the most? What needs my attention today?
It reads about companies and deals, not people
Runner removes contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, notes, message content and payment details before an answer leaves it. A deal keeps the name you gave it, so a deal named after a person shows that name.
If a source isn't connected for a product, such as an ad account or Google Analytics, the answer says so rather than showing a zero.
Once Runner answers, what the assistant does with that answer is governed by Claude's or ChatGPT's own terms and privacy policy.
What it can draft, and what it never does
Beside the Allow button on Runner's screen is a switch called Can draft, on unless you turn it off. With it on, the assistant can save posts and articles as drafts, and hand your growth team an idea to write up as an article or as posts for the channels you name. Nothing posts until you approve it in Runner.
Turn the switch off and the button reads Allow read access: the assistant reads and does nothing else.
It never sends messages or spends on its own. If an app asks for more than drafting, such as scheduling or cancelling posts where you're a product owner or admin, the switch's description says so before you allow it.
Disconnect it whenever you like
In Runner, open Settings → MCP clients, at app.runtheworld.ai/settings/mcp-clients. Under Your connections, press Revoke beside the assistant. Its next request is refused.
Your own connections are yours to revoke, whatever your role. An organization owner or admin also sees everyone's connections on that page, and can pause connected assistants under Settings → MCP kill switches.
Questions about Runner in Claude and ChatGPT
Can Claude or ChatGPT send an email or post for me through Runner?
Not on its own. It never sends messages or spends, and the drafts it saves wait for you. If an app asks to schedule posts as well, Runner's screen says so before you allow it, and a schedule runs straight away only where you're a product owner or admin.
Does the assistant see my customers' names and email addresses?
No. Runner removes contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, notes and message content before an answer leaves it. A deal keeps the name you gave it, so one named after a person shows that name.
My connection only reads. How do I let it draft?
A connection made with Can draft off, or before the switch existed, only reads. Revoke it under Settings → MCP clients and connect again with Can draft on.
How do I let it see another product?
Connect again and tick that product too. A connection covers the products ticked when you allowed it.
