What is a regular worth to you?

Type what a customer spends on a visit, how often they come and how long they stay. See what they bring in over that time, and what it leaves you after cost.

How it works

  1. Type the average order and how many times a year a customer buys.

  2. Type how many years a customer usually stays, and your gross margin.

  3. Read the lifetime revenue and profit, and use the profit as your ceiling for winning a customer.

Questions about the Customer Lifetime Value Calculator

How is customer lifetime value calculated?

Lifetime revenue is the average order times orders a year times years as a customer. Lifetime profit multiplies that by your gross margin. An order of 18, twelve times a year for three years at a 60% margin is 648 in revenue and 388.80 in profit.

Where do I find these numbers?

Your POS or store export has the average order. Orders a year and years as a customer come from repeat customers you can recognise, by loyalty card, email or phone number. A rough estimate is enough to start.

What do I use it for?

For deciding what a new customer is worth winning. If a regular leaves you 388 over their time with you, spending a fraction of that to win one can still pay; the cost per acquisition calculator puts the two side by side.
