Did the ad pay for itself?

Type what the campaign cost and the sales it brought in. See the return on every unit you spent, and add your margin to see what is left once the ad and the goods are paid for.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Runner.

How it works

  1. Type the ad spend for the campaign or the period.

  2. Type the sales the ads brought in, from the ad platform or your own records.

  3. Add your gross margin to see the profit after ads, and the return you need to break even.

Questions about the ROAS Calculator

How is ROAS calculated?

Return on ad spend is the revenue from the ads divided by what the ads cost. Spend 500 and bring in 2,000, and the ROAS is 4: four back for every one spent.

What is a good ROAS?

One above your break-even ROAS, which depends on your margin. At a 40% margin each sale keeps 40 of every 100, so the ads must return 2.5 times their cost just to cover the goods and the ad. The calculator works yours out from the margin you type.

Why does the ad platform report a different revenue?

Each platform counts the sales it can attribute to its own ads, by its own rules and time windows, and two platforms can both claim the same sale. Your own sales records, compared with a period without the ads, are the steadier number.
